In order to ensure the safe operation of the pump,we should pay attention to the following aspects for maintenance.

 

1. Maintenance of shaft seal:

The packing shaft seal pump shall regularly detect the sealing water pressure and water volume, always keep a small amount of clean water flowing along the shaft, adjust the packing gland regularly, check the packing and replace the packing regularly. The shaft seal water pressure and water volume shall meet the above requirements (shaft seal inspection).

For the expeller shaft seal pump equipped with oil cup, the oil cup shall be filled regularly to lubricate the internal packing or lip seal ring.

 

2. Adjustment of impeller:

In order to ensure the efficient operation of the pump, the gap between the impeller and the front guard plate must be adjusted in time. 

The gap between the impeller of the metal lined pump and the front guard plate is between 0.5-1mm. However, for the impeller of rubber lined pump, the gap between the front and rear sheaths shall be equal. 

When adjusting the clearance of the impeller, first stop the pump, loosen the bolt that compresses the bearing assembly, screw the nut on the adjusting bolt to move the bearing assembly forward, and rotate the shaft by hand according to the rotation direction of the pump until the impeller rubs with the front guard plate. For the metal lined pump, loosen the nut for half a turn, and then tighten the nut in front of the adjusting bolt to move the bearing assembly backward. At this time, the gap between the impeller and the front guard plate is between 0.5-1mm.

For the rubber lined pump, screw the nut on the adjusting bolt to make the bearing assembly move forward first to make the impeller contact the front sheath, and then move the bearing assembly backward to make the impeller contact the rear sheath. 

Measure the total moving distance of the bearing assembly, take half of this distance as the gap between the impeller and the front and rear sheath, and then adjust the position of the bearing assembly with the adjusting bolt to ensure the correct gap between the impeller and the front and rear sheath. After adjustment, before starting again, it is necessary to recheck whether the impeller rotates normally and whether the compression bolts of bearing assembly and adjustment bolts are tightened, and then start the pump.

 

3. Bearing lubrication:

During the assembly of bearing components, if the assembly is correct, the lubricating oil is appropriate and the maintenance is timely, the operation life will be longer. The maintenance person shall regularly overhaul the bearing components and check the condition of bearings and grease. The maintenance interval is generally no more than 12 months. Lubricating grease must be added regularly during operation. 

The interval and injection amount are related to many factors such as pump speed, bearing specification, continuous working time, pump shutdown times, surrounding environment and operating temperature, and excessive lubricating grease will cause bearing heating. Therefore, it is necessary to gradually accumulate experience and add lubricating grease reasonably and timely. In general, please refer to the following table.
